Mental Health

Mental health challenges are incredibly common and can affect anyone at any stage of life. Experiencing mental health difficulties is not a sign of weakness – it’s a normal human experience that deserves understanding, support, and professional care.

Mental health problems can arise from various factors, including:

  • Genetic predisposition
  • Environmental influences during development
  • Current life circumstances and stressors
  • Underlying medical conditions
  • Major life changes or traumatic events
Simple daily strategies can significantly impact your mental health:
  • Prioritising adequate sleep (7-9 hours nightly)
  • Engaging in regular physical activity
  • Participating in activities you enjoy
  • Maintaining connections with friends and family
  • Practicing mindfulness or relaxation techniques

However, we understand that sometimes these strategies aren’t enough, or your mental health condition may be preventing you from implementing them effectively.

We offer evidence-based psychological therapies as part of comprehensive mental health care through our Focused Psychological Strategies program.

What FPS involves:

  • Accessibility: Available under a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP)
  • Session options: 30 minute appointments with our specially trained GPs
  • Personalised approach: Your GP explores your priorities and goals for mental health improvement
  • Practical techniques: Development of relaxation strategies, grounding techniques, cognitive restructuring, and problem-solving skills

If you want to book a MHCP with you doctor, give us a call or book online now.

Remember: Seeking help for mental health is a sign of strength and self-care, not weakness. Early intervention often leads to better outcomes and improved quality of life.

If you have concerns about your mental health – whether you’re experiencing new symptoms, ongoing challenges, or simply want to discuss your mental wellbeing – we encourage you to book an appointment with one of our GPs or call one of the services below.
